I just invested in what feels like a most ridiculous and frivolous way.
I am paying someone to shop for me.
Who does that?
Who cannot shop for themselves?
The answer is me.
I have never liked to shop. And as my body is starting to shift and change with age I don’t have a clue what looks good on me anymore.
I recently walked into a store and spent hours looking for a few outfits I could wear on an upcoming photo shoot. I left exhausted and empty handed because I refuse to buy anything I don’t LOVE.
As I thought about what I could have done with that time – read a good book, written part of my next book, played with my kids, had dinner with my husband, created new marketing – I realized I needed to stop screwing around with this shopping thing and just hire someone who knows and LOVES how to do it.
It feels like a relief. And relief is a strong sign that I am on the path to JOY!
So why am I telling you all this? Because right now there is something you are doing in your life or business that YOU HATE TO DO. It bores you, exhausts you, depletes you, or makes you resentful. Or you are not doing it at all but you know it would seriously move the dial on your business or life. And you could easily hire someone who would be thrilled to do it for you but you don’t.
And I’m guessing you don’t because you are thinking you should be able to do this on your own.
OR
You feel guilty investing in yourself in this way.
And I want you to know I get it. I GET IT! But it is a false belief. It is an illusion to believe you SHOULD be able to do something you do not want to do. Your soul is feeding you direction every single day on where you should be spending your time.
Your soul speaks to you through your JOY. And when you experience the opposite of joy it is your Soul’s way of telling you to stop.
Listen to your soul!!!
You may not be able to invest in every type of support you would LOVE right now but can you take a step forward? Is there one type of support you can invest in that will move your JOY factor up a few notches?
I promise you if you have the courage to invest in yourself and your business the Universe will pay you dividends far beyond your wildest dreams.
P.S. In the two days following my investment in a stylist, I closed more business than I have all month. I haven’t even worked with her yet!
