So you know you have to network to grow your business. In fact, you’ve probably been networking but it’s not turning into sales.
So what needs to shift to transform all those valuable hours you invest in networking into sales?
Be Selective. Before you say yes to a networking opportunity be sure that the place you’ll be networking is filled with YOUR people, the people you came to serve. It is very unlikely that networking will turn into sales if your customers are not in the room.
Focus. You don’t need to introduce yourself to the entire room. Focus on having meaningful conversations with 2-3 people. Once you’ve established a connection, set up a time to talk outside the networking event. It will be in that follow up conversation that you can spend time uncovering their needs and determining if your services are a good fit for their needs. If there is a match offer your services (a.k.a. a sales pitch.)
Show Up Consistently. Networking, like all marketing, is strengthened through repetition. When you find a networking group that you enjoy, that is filled with YOUR people, commit to showing up on a regular basis. This will allow you to establish true relationships with people. It is in the context of those relationships that sales happen easily.
Now you may be saying:
But I’ve done all that Patty and I’ve got nothing to show for it!
If that is the case generally one of two problems is occurring:
You are not clear on who you serve. You can read more about what that means here.
OR
You just aren’t comfortable asking people to pay you for the value you share with the world (aka sales.) This is pretty normal for a heart-centered entrepreneur.
If that is the case, I invite you to join me for our upcoming training Six Figure Sales for Heart-Centered Entrepreneurs. During the training I’ll share the key tools I use to help my clients move their sales from blah to BA-BAM. There is no cost for this training and no hidden agenda. This is my gift to you!
Thanks for being here and reading my message. I want you to stay connected with me so that I can share all future communications with you.
