Last week I interviewed a woman for my podcast whose entire business is focused on helping people find partners for their businesses. In the interview, she said “I still struggle to ask for help. I always feel like it will be easier to do it myself.”
That didn’t surprise me. I teach people how to receive and that is definitely my learning edge. Right now the way I’m playing with it is to invite in more support in my life and business. In just a few short months we’ve hired a full-time VA, tech VA, Community Manager, and Gift fulfillment team. This month our focus is bringing on a strong Online Business Manager.
This process has triggered me more times than I can count. My unconscious belief system continues to poke its head out of the shadows saying “People will always let you down” and underneath that is the ugliest of all the voices “You do not deserve good support.”
Even now as I wrote that tears ran right to my eyeballs. I’m amazed that despite the work I’ve done on this belief system, it is still running in the background. The difference is that it doesn’t stop me. In fact, every time I get triggered a stronger, more powerful part of me says “BRING IT !!!” because I know if I’m getting triggered two things are also true:
-
-
-
- I am taking great strides forward and my reptilian brain is just scared.
- Something is close enough to the surface to be cleared.

Out of all the types of receiving out there – money, love, guidance, visibility, etc. – support is by far the one that brings up my sh*t. The good news is that now I know better. The fear and doubt no longer paralyze me, they galvanize me because here is the tool that cuts through all the BS…
When my chest starts to contract and the burning feeling shows up in my gut whispering “you are not worthy, you will be let down” I think of you. I think of every single person in my community and remember why I am here.
I weigh the illusion of safety that comes with staying small against the gifts that sharing what I share has brought to me and others. Once I do that, the balance is tipped. Fear no longer matters.
So thank you. Thank you for reading. Thank you for replying and sharing your thoughts and breakthroughs. Thank you for agreeing to be in this crazy adventure ship together – because we are. We all agreed to come at the same time and need the gifts each other have to offer. So that we can heal… together.
I love you. Whatever is keeping you at the edge of your own vulnerability please know I’m grateful and proud to be on the journey with you. And if there is anything I can do to support you, just reply here and let me know what that is.
Much love,
Patty
