Have you ever struggled to set an intention?
Intentions are powerful ways to tell The Divine, “I’d like this specific outcome.” It is a beautiful way to open up communication with The Divine that allows Her to respond in a way you can understand. 
And yet, if you get caught up in making sure you ask “the right way” or for “the exact right thing” you can get stuck. This happens at the start of The Receiving School a lot. As a result, I spend time in meditation asking The Divine and my Spirit Guides for guidance on how to make the intention-setting process easier.
Last week I was shocked when I got a message back from my Spirit Guides sharing what the real issue with intention setting is.
I had said to my Guides
Show me how to make this easier on people. I just want them to understand that this is a way to ask the Divine for proof that She is helping them. It’s like saying “Divine are you there?” And giving Her a specific way to say “Yes!”
Just then a flood of warmth went through me and I heard
But that’s just it Patty. They are afraid The Divine will answer “no” or “not for you.”
Of course! How did I not see this before! We hold back on asking for what we truly want or need because we are afraid that when we do we will be denied. If we ask, rather than having proof that we are loved and supported, we risk receiving proof that we are not worthy or worse, that we are ignored.
I’m still sitting with this awareness. Feeling into how to bridge this fear for others – this fear that they are not as “seen” and as loved by The Divine as another. I don’t have any immediate answers but I know this for sure:
The Divine loves you so much. She loves you just as much as every other human on this planet. There are no favorites. No one has been deemed more worthy OR made themselves more worthy. That just isn’t possible.
If you have been resisting setting an intention for something you desire, please don’t hold back anymore. When you state clearly what you want or need it makes it easier for The Divine to respond.
