Happy Mother’s Day!
Yesterday my 3 year old daughter had her first dance recital. As I watched her cross the stage with the rest of her friends I couldn’t help but awe at her posture. She stands perfectly aloft in her 3 feet of awesomeness. No slumped shoulders, no tentative steps, no question that she comes first on her own priority list.
Tears streamed down my face at the beauty of it and my greatest hope is that as she grows up that she retains all that awesome. That she stands firm in her own value and beauty.
And that is my Mother’s Day wish for you… that you know your value and see your beauty.
Look into the mirror and see the beauty there. Know that you have a divine purpose (and although it includes motherhood that is not the beginning and end of your gifts.) Look into your own eyes and understand with deep knowing how much you have given and how many dreams have yet to be born.
Give yourself a gift today. Write a list of all the new experiences, accomplishments, relationships and fun you will be celebrating next Mother’s day. (Tomorrow we’ll start talking about how to make sure they all happen..but today we’ll just celebrate!)
Savor your awesomeness!
Happy Mother’s Day!
