Can You Just Stop?

Do you ever wonder what would happen if you just stopped?

Stopped doing.
Stopped going, going, going.
Stopped “making it happen.”

Well I can tell you – when you stop doing you will start to freak the f*ck out- that is what will happen. I know this because I have been in a period of what Barbara Stanny calls “deep surrender.”

Deep surrender requires you do nothing – a lot. Doing nothing has been laughably challenging. My ego has been squirming and screaming like a toddler being pulled off her pacifier for the first time.

All that “doing” was so distracting, soothing, numbing. When I was doing I didn’t have to pay attention to the whispers of my soul. Whispers that turned into loud urgings once I slowed down.

My soul was looking to shake things up in the business but I couldn’t quite pinpoint what it was. I prayed for clarity and over the last few weeks the Universe sent me a series of people to tell me. It was wild to hear person after person say almost the exact same thing to me (totally unprompted.)

One thing I’ve learned in this surrender is that when you stop doing you leave the Universe (aka God) a lot more room to help.

So here is what I hear from all those amazing messengers of God:

What I love about you Patty is that you make the business stuff so easy to understand but you also return back to the spiritual piece so that I never lose track of it. You help me stay connected and remember that is important.

So that is it. I am here to help people learn to grow their businesses while staying connected to their souls. (We teach what we most need to learn, right?)

I’m not sure what comes next. I have scrapped my marketing plan for the year. I’m working on developing a plan that feels in alignment with this new clarity.
