My husband Matt works for a pool manufacturer. His position as a regional sales manager for New England primarily involves growing relationships with the businesses that sell the equipment his company manufactures. That is true 50 weeks out of the year. But all that changes in the 2 weeks leading up to Memorial Day Weekend.
Memorial Day Weekend is crunch time when pool owners rush to open their pools in time for what they consider the start of summer. And the one piece of equipment that is the focus of all pool technicians at that time is the pool heater.
Because New England has a short pool season compared to the warmer climates, pool owners need to soak up every minute they can of open pool time. And in May, that means heating the water.
Pool heaters are the hot commodity around these parts and so getting them up and running becomes everyone’s prime objective, including Matt. The service desk in his company cannot field all the calls that come in at the start of the season and so sales people get the overflow.
I have watched this play out for 7 years. The calls come fast and furiously from sunup to sundown every day of the week and Matt usually takes those calls on speaker phone so he can multitask.
And what I have learned listening to these very painful conversations is that 90% of the time the answer to why a pool heater doesn’t work is because the switch that says “low/high” needs to be flipped to the “high” side.
You are probably wondering, What does that even mean, Patty, and why are you telling me this.
First of all, you don’t need to know anything about that switch or pool heaters in general. I sure don’t and I could take the majority of Matt’s service calls and still answer them with “Did you flip the switch to high?”
What I have gleaned is that low/high controls the level of gas (power) that gets fed into the pool heater to run it. The default setting is low because most places in the country don’t need the kind of heavy duty heating we do in New England.
The gas lines installed for New England pools have a higher capacity and so the heater needs to be able to accept that bigger capacity. When the switch is on low the heater fires up but it quickly putters out. I don’t know why – it just does.
When you switch to a different power level, the heater fires up and it’s all smooth sailing from there.
So how does this help you? There is a much higher frequency of energy available to us now. But you are probably still operating at your default setting that was built for lower frequency times.
You do something that used to work and you start to feel some juice around it but pretty quickly it putters out. SO the question to ask yourself is how do you flip your own switch so you can tap into this stronger frequency?
Next week’s full moon in Aries is helping us with that. If you want to learn more about what that means and how to work with Luna’s help to elevate the life you are living I recorded this video to explain: September Full Moon in Aries Reading: Let Go, Choose Yourself & Trust What’s Next
The short answer is – check in on what part(s) of your life aren’t working for you anymore. That is where something needs to change.
With love,
Patty
